                                                             Interim Conferences since 2000

 September 2000, Madrid

The RC41 met at the Universidad Complutense, Madrid, Spain's world-class capital with its renown museums, intellectual life and outdoor cafes.  The Gender Issues in Demography conference was hosted by Encarnación Aracil, department of Social Sciences and Sociology.  The conference generated two publications:  Género y Población (Gender and Population) and edited issue of Revista Vasca de Sociologia y Ciencia Politica.  The latter publication included a large number of articles authored by members of RC41.

 September 2005, Malta

In September of 2005 the RC41 met in Malta.  The Inequalities in Population conference was organized by Joseph Troisi, Secretary RC41, and Director of the European Centre of Gerontology, University of Malta.  The Conference was widely attended by members of RC41 and other ISA Research Committees, who enjoyed the beautiful island of Malta, set in striking Mediterranean beauty, surrounded by centuries old tradition and history.
