Welcome to the home page for The Center on Aging and Health. The Center Aging and Health at the University of Texas Pan-American, Edinburg, Texas aims at coordinating university research and education with community resources.  The Center is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of our Lower Rio Grande Valley seniors by providing resources that contribute toward their over all health improvements and social empowerment.
The Center on Aging and Health conducts basic research, administers grants, and links social science research to the community through education. At present the Center administers grants from the National Institutes of Health and the Texas Department on Aging. In 2002 the Center completed projects funded by the Center for Disease Control, the Alzheimer’s Association, and the Levi’s Foundation. The Center co-ordinates the Andrus Fellowship  program for graduate students on campus.  This summer four UTPA graduate students participated in summer internships in Washington, DC.  The Andrus Foundation is the original founder of the AARP.
